just wondering spiker. did hear vtec working after the missshift? I mean 10min on no oil pressure seems like would have eaten you bearings alive? hows the heads cam journals look? I was just thinking it cracked and finaly gave out sometime later ?

Everything looks good... The pics above (page before this) actually make everything look worse than they do in person...

All in all Im VERY happy with the outcome for what happened thus far. Cam Journals and the cams and the followers and the pistons and the crank look fine. Bearings are in remarkable shape all things considered... Turbos shaft wasnt happy, replacd it and had it rebuilt.



I was expecting everything to look like i tried to shove my massive E-**** into a Virgin puppys ***....


As for VTEC... Cant remember... With no oil pressure it couldnt have been working, but on 21+ PSI and racegas... The cars not slow so its hard to tell... WHen I COULD feel a difference is when I pulled over... Un fortunately too late. Lesson learned.

I will not drive it after doing that again... The sound was truly ugly. Like really ugly..... It struck fear (rightfully so) and panic in my fat little heart.

whats the deal with the new oil pump gears? stronger or more volume/pressure? is your unit from KMS Engine Development or something? I've been trying to find a high flow/capacity oil pump for my D but i haven't had any luck

Does'nt somebody make a switch or realy, that when you lose oil pressure it will cut power to your fuel pump? I think jeggs or summit has them IDK. Something to think about any ways.

man i always thought it would be cool to have something like that but i didn't know they actually made them. most all the heavy duty diesels will shut off if the computer detects stuff like that, one time my truck shut off because the coolant was about 1 gal low. doesn't let you ---- up anything anymore.
