bottom end of a factory turbo 1.8L that can take 500hp = not impressed when everything cost way to much and falls apart attached to it

i already know from experience a factory turbo vw is less reliable then a honda i turbo'd on the cheap.


ive turbo'd german cars, (bmw) because there not designed all retarded and fucked over, so im not predjudice against non-jap cars, but vw's are no fun. stupid lookin, break too much, too much $ for not enough performance, thats not the hmt way suckas.

and everyone ive met thats "into" vw is usually a retard, so that says somthing to i guess.

So? The same factories also design the Porsche stuff, which is by and large ------- bulletproof. Just like the excellence that is an OEM Honda oil filter is manufactured by Fram, who makes the shittiest oil filter ever designed, any factory is going to make it to a different specification directly depending on the design and budget of the entity contracting them.

BTW, the GTR's 90,000 mile factory service log book lists seven slots for when transmission assemlbies are replaced and the new trans' serial number. Awesome example, dude.

No, they'd have their panties flamed off for not knowing the first ------- thing about about how an engine works. Big plenum short runner makes power, we've known this from when your dad was reading Hot Rod dreaming of buying his first car, and you do NOT ---- around with port *or runner* diameters unless you've changed valve sizes and/or are going for some serious big power and don't care that the engine is going to be gutless off boost or even at low boost.

There's nothing new or innovative to be done in the automotive realm except for learning enough to actually know what the ---- you are talking about, and make setups/parts that don't have major engineering flaws like, um, most anything VW's made for a couple decades.


Now, Flaco, this is the second post I've come across today where you've singled me out as being incorrect or wrong. I'm going to direct you towards my reply to you about what overhyped unreliable pieces of ---- Subarus are as a performance package - you need to shut the ---- up and listen when I speak about technical matters - because I can get really mean. Mercedes introduced Direct injection in 1955 in the 300SL

Renualt introduced turbocharged direct injection in 1999

It wasn't for another 4 years that VW came to the table with the same thing.

Actually they just released the 09 TDI that meets the new standards. Chrysler, GM and Ford all beat them too it with 07 models. Yes they are light trucks, but they still meet the same standards, and all run DPF's. Common Rail (which vw finally has this year, GM has had since the Duramax), and other emissions controls.
