my dad has an M14, its raw and also cost like 1200$. It super accurate and it feels nice. Im a broke as a joke 19 year old though so i have ak's. I build them for like 300$, i just bought two more parts kits last night, and theyll be 100% legal and fully auto. They arent accurate past like 100-150 yards, but its a blast to shoot and a good story to bust out of the gun safe. You cant brag about an ak for anything but cost, reliability, or reputation. end of story

mini14 is more reliable, more fun, cheaper to shoot, and more accurate out of the box
I saw a used mini-14 for 359 yesterday at a gun store.Im going to jump on that with or without the check

two of my guns..alot of people complain about how un reliable sks's are.It all comes down to cleaning. If you get one thats covered in cosmoline it has to be cleaned right especially the bolt.I cleaned just the bolt 5 times and the whole gun 3 times just to be sure it was all gone. Not having a chrome plated barrel means you need to clean it more before firing but thats only on yugos. It's accurate enough with just the steel sights and took some tweaking, but I agree the first time I shot a ruger I loved it

Honestly the normal wood stock one is better. They are not made for detach mags (some models can take ak mags straight from the factory but they are rare) so the stupid duckbill mags make it akward to reload unless your use to it.These are both yugo's (alot of people will say anything but russians are crap which isn't true.Yugo's are beefier then most any other make and are just as good as russians. Why? because at the time Yugoslavia didn't have great production capabilities. So each rifle had to last longer since they didn't produce as many where as the chinese turned these out like hot cakes so it didnt matter.) The bottom has a tapco t-6 adjustable stock,20 rd poly mag tapco muzzle break, gas piston, hand gaurd and operating rod.So now it has under 10 foreign made parts and is now a US made "sporting rifle" I'm going to put a red dot sight on it later.Still using the steel sights.
