it is deffinatley the rings, you could replace the valve seals if you want but it probally wouldnt help. new rings and rod bearings will do the trick , if you know what your doing you can pulll off the head and oil pan and rering it in a few hours. its pretty cheap and works as long as your main bearings are cool.
