I'll do a little searching because I'm sure you have posted why you think the LS head is better somehwere, but feel free to post up why.
I think alot of people are under the misconception that you cant make alot of power on a honda with out vtec , which is not true. I agree that good head work on an LS with some good cams can flow as much if not more than the almight vtec head bc a vtec head is in "economy mode" or whatever until what 5000rpm or later

"Better" is a strange word to use when comparing the two heads.

Record for power with a bone stock LS head, strapped to a 2.0 built bottom end, is 850 whp.

What I am saying, is that there is no functional reason to upgrade from LS to B-VTEC, for 90% of the high dollar HT builds you see... you know, the ones that cost $15K or so when you could acheive the same power with reliability for $3.5K or so?

Go to HT and look at StyleTeg's 11:1 CR LS build... B16 pistons in a stock bottom end, Crower 404's and valvetrain. He dyno'd back to back with an ITR, and while they made about the same peak power the ITR... due to those "better" flowing lazy ports... had NOTHING for midrange and most of the top end, when compared to the LS. If that confuses you, go read mototune guy's articles about filling ports in order to increase average charge velocity and see if that explains why.

If I wanted 375-500 whp, aside from the slightly lower knock limit on pump gas, there is no reason to choose a VTEC head over an LS one. For 500+, well, gimme a set of cams - that cost less than a VTEC head - and we'll play.

I think I hate Hybrid's cars. Just because they are cracked up to be great, which they run really well, but they're pretty ghetto sometimes. Then I will get ragged on my stuff though. All hyped on a name. I also "heard" they blew like 5 C5's in their ITR, but I don't know how true that is.

Not that I wouldn't like to play with a K-series of my own at some point, I'm really digging my D-series right now even though I loathe their gearboxes, but between expense and having to send the crankshaft off to modify the journals for the H22 bearings they should have run in the first place just to make them reliable I'm not too interested in rushing off and doing that one just yet. Frankly, I'll hop on an F22/F23 next, if I don't *finally* do something with my 90 5.0 trunk.
I will atleast agree on all your points for their downfalls from the factory. But they make power in stock form (meaning bolt ons and tuning) that B-series barely make being built. If you get the chance mess around with one. I haven't driven anything like it being all motor.

But the H22 bearing mod is pretty intersting, I guess that is the same kinda bearing or size they use in nascar or some ----.?

PS. I hate the damn K-series tranny. Cable trannies just **** me off.

You have to grind the K journal a little wider, rebalance and harden the crank, use custom rods. Given the cost of a K-series, it's a drop in the bucket.

Why not? Just cause of the weight?

why, like a coupe weights alot. You apparently have never been around anything other than hondas if you think a coupe is heavy LOL
