A "bear" minimum above furry black creatures and sharp rocks!

I am using a PerfectPower6 to tune with.

I am giving it one more shot. I am highly suspect that my tuning methods were why I have lost so many motors. i.e. I never pulled enough timing.

Now I am starting out pulling 10 degrees and just running my previous good map with this timing schedule accross the board on boost.

And its running swell. The stock ECU thinks it has 270cc injectors where as in reality it has 800cc injectors. I turn the key, prime the fuel pump, turn the key, and more often than not, without touching the gas pedal. the wagon starts and idles immediatley. But if I miss the start, the injectors "flood" the engine and so I just have to floor it while starting and it starts about 4 seconds later.

I have searched and found MANY boost leaks. And its kind of like whack-a-mole. But I have one leak that ONLY happens at high boost under load so its been DAMN HARD to reproduce while sitting. I will hit target boost, then it holds for a few seconds, then , BLAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHT, I lose 4ish psi. And it does not happen all the time. I suspect the only way I am going to find it is on the dyno. But I have my suspicions and will attempt a fix before then.

And I got ------- LUCKY today that I didnt burn to the ------- ground. I drove it a whopping 2 miles to dinner, instead of the daily driver. So the uppipe didnt get too hot. Which was good because a NEW fuel line spring a pinhole leak that sprayed DIRECTLY onto the uppipe! I went to go for some test driving after diner, but the wagon would not start. And damn if I ddint smell gas. So I figured I just flooded it due to the too large injectors and went to unclip the injector clips and when I did so I smelled ALOT of gas. And saw a BIG *** puddle under the turbo. GAS!

The fuel line leak was just about 1" away from the hard line so I was able to cut and retighten the line. LUCKY SUM BITCH!!!!!!!!

Then I went and killed more kittens and old people near the mall.

Boost "leak" found? I tightened the SC belt and now no issues with boost. 22 psi for the around town tune. Breaks AWD traction in 3rd in the rain... Probably 350 whp? right now?

Once I get paid by a customer, I will be on the dyno and tuning it back up to 400 whp plus.....

I have some weird miss issues on heavy boost so have been staying below 5000 rpm for now. Soooo Fast! I love it!

You think your miss issues may be spark blow-out? You could experiment a little bit by closing the gap on your spark plugs a bit and see if the problem gets better. Thats just what I think of when I see missing at high boost.

Good luck man! Love the build

Soooo.

Made it to Astoria and back!

Milage not so hoton the way there. . Milage back was a little better.

Boost leak was a variety of little leaks AND the supercharger belt was slipping after it held for a bit. I suspect the noise I heard was the pulley slipping.

My "air cleaner" works very well. But since it is just a section of air filter stuck in front of the turbo inlet, the moment I attempt big boost, it simply gets contracted and no air is allowed in. I mean, only 6 psi versus 22! But its dirty, so its doing its job.

I removed and cut the supercharger inlet so for the first time since Jan 2007, I can make a tight right hand turn without grinding my ****ing front tire. I blame it on lazyness.

And how its running on the untuned map? "good". Pulling 10 degrees up timing up top, rich as crap probably. I have oil smoke issues sometimes. Not sure what to blame it on yet, rings or turbo. Hoping turbo.

How does it run? Like a raped ape as they say. Got on it tonight and I need to turn the boost down. 24 psi @ 4000 rpm.

I am going to go to the track tomorrow and run now that.....

I finally got a goddamned shifter welded up!

It appears I may now be able to shift into 3rd under load! It was a combination of me and the tranny it appears. With the longer shifter, I am able to move the gear selection fork into the right slot, versus grinding it as I was. Hoping for the best!
