Well the wagon hasnt driven since I aite first gear back in September 2007. But I am gettin closer to having it running again.

Rebuilt the transmission with a crazy 1997 STI gearbox and my 4.11 drive which means I will have change my 4th gear topend from 115mph @ 6700 rpm to 125mph @ 6700rpm!

And I have two motor options now. The stock beast that broke the tranny (well, I broke the tranny dumping it), and a new motor I wa actually planning to use in my daily driver. Its a 2006 RS 2.5 block, with STI crank, H-Beam rods, EJ20R heads and JE pistons. The only hangup with it is I am missing the rings so its not complete yet.

I am also going to change exhaust manifold setup to the WRX/STI style turbo exhaust and notch my crossmember to work. Since I will be doing all this work, I will also be getting the Audi external wastegate to work.

Cause its alive!

Damn it feels awesome to drive it again. I dropped the tranny and engine back in on Friday, and got it running on Saterday. But I didnt drive it more than two times around the block cause I didnt have proof of insurance.


But Holy Mother of God did if feel fast just barely accellerating at 2psi.....

Damn man keep it up. You have been throw a lot with it, it can only get better.

 

Until you have to pull the tranny out 2 days later.
Something is fubared with the shift forks and I got stuck in 5th on the freeway. I was able to eventually jerk it out of gear, but now I don't have 4th or reverse. Nothing is broken, but i need to tear it down and find the problem.

 

Dropped the tranny out, tore it down, swapped out the rear diff (cause I used the wrong type), re-assembled the tranny, reinstalled the tranny, still worked today( well some, told my employees what to do), still ate dinner with the family, and just got back from driiving it around the block.

Oh My God, is my chest sore.
