I'm assuming you haven't started the engine yet - with water sitting in their a while, any rust the rings have to scrape off will be a major issue. If you want the easiest way out, dump 2 ounces of motor oil in each cylinder and spin if (with no plugs in it) a few times. Just make sure to go slow and have rags handy. :P

BTW the silencer ring is for anti-ricers who don't want a screaming turbo.

She's been running open header up and down my road a few times. I'm not too worried about this engine cause of the possible rust issues you mentioned, the engine was basically frozen when I got it. I poured a couple caps of oil in each cyl and got er to crank. Compression in a couple of the cylinders was ----, so I added more oil lol. After ripping around a bit, the comp is still up though so i'm not too sure of the condition of the rings is completely fucked.... we'll see I've never tuned ---- so I look at this engine as an expendable casualty. All she needs to do is hold together long enough for me to get some experience.

isnt that the truth, Thats what my b7 was for and even beating on it at 16+psi from a te04h (pewney) it still had good compression. Like the project, like the integra, i'm interested in this hx35 jargon, exactly what model/year/motor do they come from? I understand its dodge, I saw a few in a boneyard but didnt want to pay for a crap turbo.

Sorry guys, havn't touched it since the last 5am excursion. As soon as I get a break from workin 7 days a week Ill throw the resistors, mounts and charge-piping on. Probably won't happen till this weekend at the earliest, but then we'll shred some tires in front of the police station (across the street hows that for neighbors?)

And for the one that asked, my turbo has no silencer ring-didn't come with one.
