Re:turbo install...having problems with the WG hitting the block***my pics***
you could just try to modify the the piece that holds the wasetage to the turbo, by drilling 2 new holes further down, it will bring the wastegate closer to the turbo. then im sure you'll have enough room if not cut away at the block the a/c compressor isnt goin back in there anyway

yeah the drain is a pain in the *** with the damn hf manifold. i would probably do it again haha. its cheap and it works. although i didnt have a problem with the wg hittin the block. i would just modify the WG to bolt somewhere else.

The drain is a pain in the *** because the hf/plate combo sets the turbo way low. You will have a hard time figuring out the best outcome. It has been done many times, but it's a bitch. After the drain flange and barb fitting go on it usually leaves the end of the barb fitting like an inch higher than where you need to hit the pan, and about 4-6 inches out.
If you wanna set yourself up with a best case senerio, do what I've suggested about the gas in the oil pan to check the level and the lowest possible place to put the pan flange. (barb fitting)

on my sohc i grinded the block and modified the wastegate bracket to make it sit right next to the turbo. worked great too.

thanks for all of the great info. the wife is gonna own me today, but im gonna go get it all mounted up tommorow. i think im gonna start by mounting it somewhere else, then if i still have problems bust out the grinder. thanks again though!

See the spacer.... it was $20 from bmc. I used tranny case bolts to get the extra length.
It did not totally solve my clearance issue. After bolting everything down the actuator had a small dent. So I cut up an extra actuator that I had lying around. I found that a minor dent would not affect the function of the actuator. I also did a little grinding on the block webbing. I'm sure you can make it work.
