That's pretty genius! where would be a good/easy place to mount it on a Y8?

I have mine bolted to the center bottom intake bolt and it seems to work very well in this spot. i think there is a bolt for the black box PCV thing right close to the same spot. One more thing, Make sure your wastgate reference line is coming off from the intake manifold not the compressor housing because you will lose pressure from the FMIC and piping like 2psi plus or minus.

Catch can wont halp, because I think he still keeps his PCV line and conected to manifold...

the way i look at this is just make sure your boost guage is off the intake manifold and no matter what you will know what you have going in your engine and up the boost from there. If you hook you wastegate to the intake manifold then it will put more boost in the engine thats all. you can do that with a boost controller and if you run it to the compressor its less line for the air to travel through and cleaner looking in the engine bay and less tubing the less chances of problems. ehh do what ya want its not that big of a deal but u can keep boost lower if you run it to compressor and that would be a shitty intercooler to have 2psi pressure drop at 13psi. well shitty or gigantic

you also have to factor in piping, its not the IC that drops all the pressure especially when using large piping like 3" i'm using a Core Size 22"x7"x2.5" IC and 2.5" piping and losing about 1.6psi moving the line vise-versa. Its just nice to correct the pressure drop by moving that line from the turbo to the intake, but i'm not insinuating thats his problem. just adding it for Reff..
Just use a high quality and have no worries, i built a wire/hose tray that runs right over the valve cover next to the cam gear for EGT wires and coolant/vac hoses for the turbo.

well as long as you but good stuff and your intercooler is not off of a diesel truck and your piping is correctly sized its not to much to worry about but otherwise if you want to run as much as possible off of wastegate alone ( no b/c ) then yes run it to the intake manifold but i kept mine at the turbo for cleanliness and so it wouldnt be as long plus you have a wider range of boost to choose from and lastly depending on what you have you would have to have like 4 t's at the manifold to have everything hooked up where if you run your wastegate to the compressor it eliminates a t and you wont have to block off the nipple on the turbo.
I like to argue

how many times did you cut the orig spring? and how many times id you take the wastegate apart? sounds like YOU were the one that ripped the diaphragm. that manifold could be a reason for your weird boost too. wastegate placement is pretty poor.

wastegate placement is really poor. it is only venting one cylinder. egay knock off ftl

true boost creep can be a possibility, I will be running the ectune EBC which cures this

but non the less poor placement at best, but hey for like 80 bucks cant beat it lol
