OK , ive got a D16Z6 WITH A IHI TURBO

i bought a used turbo but has NO shaft play !!

i smoke only in boost , WHITE smoke !

ive got a restrictor / my oil return line is good

ive got oil in my charge pipes and in my exhaust / I also noticed there was oil in my spark plugs

are my seals blown ? is my headgasket gone ?

WHY ME ? GOD WHY ME ?

 

what are you using for fuel/ignition? What IHI turbo and how much boost? Sounds like you lifted your headgasket if there is a lot of white smoke and there is probably oil going past your turbo's seals, bad return line or too much oil pressure

 

iam using a IHI RHB5 turbo from a 1.8L Subaru engine with 8/9 psi

iam using a vafc

if my headgasket was lifting wouldnt my coolent/water run out ? as it doesnt
my oil return line is good, ive already put a oil restrcitor on it. how can
i find out if my headgasket is actually lifting ?

could my seals within the turbo be blown even thou the turbo has no shaft play ?
my turbo looks good.

please help a brother out !!

 

get some real engine management and a catch can. also, do a compression test then come back and tell us the deal.
