Ok guys

Did it by the book.

1. Rebuild turbo
2. Reroute the drain line at least 3 times. Its never been emptying under the oil level. THe return size is right.
3. Put in a restriction as per Corky Bell. At the Turbo in side.

She still smokes like a Bitch. The oil is leasking into the Down pipe on the exhaust side. Nothing on the intake side.
Before I go out and buy a new Turbo. A few questions.


1. When I take off the Turbo oil in line and shine a torch into the trubo in. I can see some oil. When I try blowing into the Turbo in I can feel some resistance. So I hooled up a compresor to the Turbo oil in. It was pasing air fine. THe Gauge never registered more than 2 PSI.

2. When I start the car and flow the oil out the oil line. It shoots a high presure jet the thickness of a thick needle which is like at very high presure. Im sure the presure is over 80 PSI. FLow is correct i.e. past the restriction but presure is quite high. What I did for the restriction was insert a jet into the oil pipe end and drill a hole as per COrky bells reco.

3. When I chk the oil out line. The oil flows freely.

4. I suspect the restriction should have been placed at the start of the turbo in line not at the end. This would resolve the high presure squirt hiting the insides of the turbo. Is where you put the restriction important. ?

Any help tips thoughts much appricated.
