out of all the BMW related projects I have ever seen, heard of, or read briefly about.... this has to be one of the most "real".

I can imagine you're well received in the BMW community but I can also imagine the type thats all like.. "psha.... you don't run a Dinan $2345463534 dollar exhaust NA." Keep up the good work man.

I have a mixed audience. I also pioneered running the M50, M52, S50, S52 (2.5,2.8,3.0, 3.2L) engines on full standalone in wasted spark on MegaSquirt-1 Extra and MS2-Extra. While the normal world thinks its awesome, there are a bunch of assh.... people who think that MS is incapable of running a BMW 24v motor - they're these elitist "engineer" types who thing the only proper way to control an engine is with a stock ECU.

So, I've gone through many "time outs" on that forum along with many people thinking I am a young, hot-headed kid who thinks he knows everything... I have a mixed audience

I've been keeping this build off of that forum as I'd rather let them all think that this is a 2.5L motor stock internals, etc., and then blow their minds
