Look at Burgermass' 407 whp stock LS in the eCtune dyno forum. Uhm, wow?
It comes down to repeatably and consistently being able to control ignition timing at critical airmass. The stock Honduh code has ignition timing corrections that were not disabled with Crome, Hondata. I'm sure they will be in the near future, but for now anything that needs either a lot of ignition timing added or removed at a given pressure scalar is... fuckered.

Re: jdm d15b carnage
I've been doing 4 hours on the dyno for $500, just bring a correctly assembled car with a socketed ECU. That suffices for most sub-400 whp rides. Past 400 whp cars start working you between ignition problems, couplers coming off, teething issues, letting the car cool because it's getting warm on the still air dyno, etc.
I'd like to see the single user version + Ostrich be under $300, and it'd be a great excuse for people to buy a pretty solid piece of tuning gear. Sadly, I have no idea what the bottom line will be as I don't call the shots.

Re: jdm d15b carnage
Well if neptune RTP is $450, I wouldn't expect eCtune to be more than that, especially if they don't make the ostrich fit completely INSIDE the ecu like neptune does.
They charged $150 for 'infinity seat' CromePro and it was basicly like free Uberdata with virtually all problems solved. I can't see an eCtune software/hardware deal being more than $225, given the retail price of an ostrich being $175. ***** also cheaper when packaged together, so...
