I'am really confused- Blown Head Gasket? No Fan? Overheating? Am I gay?
He already did captain. 155 across the board. Reading > j00!
Why would it lift though? I don't understand that really? It doesn't sound like it's under extremly hard conditions or anything? What causes lifting? I have my thoughts, but I now don't think I'm too right.

if you're with the stock radiator and without fan ... that's no good. I've seen people with nice radiators (Koyo, Fluidyne) without fans and no problems, but with stock radiator - no way. Well depends on where you're living
... or your head is lifting from the block due to weak head bolts. Put ARP headstuds torqued to 80ft-lbs and that'll solve your problem.
I used OEM head gasket on mine

i also have a b18b turbo and i overheat because i also will do a lot of "spirited" driving and it will overheat on me.
do you have a front mount? if so is it covering up the front hole in the bumper?
because i think that the FMIC on mine is blocking all the fresh cold air comiing through, and then traping it when it gets hot.
i say get a carbon fiber hood with a scoop, so that all the hot air can be venalted out and away from the motor, i want one but they are $500+

the biggest problem is right in your face.. you dont have a fan... the fan is there for a reason.. to cool down the the coolant in the radiator, when you're not moving.
I have a boosted LS. stock Radiator. stock fan. when i'm driving it never goes pass 1/3 of the way. when it sit for more then few minutes it rises a litle bit. but not too far from the 1/3 mark.

That's what I did, went total of about 4 dollars for four bolts and 20 washers
