I did a test on my friends car its a 93 integra ls. we ran it up and down the street for some good pulls, the car only has an intake. After we pulled back in the driveway i took a temp gun and checked the intake manifold. it read 150 degrees. let the car cool down and installed the hondata intake manifold gasket got everything all back together took it for a spin in the same conditions same way we did before. pulled back into the driveway and tested the intake manifold with a temp gun and it read 135 degress.

150-135=15 degree drop.

proven lowering intake temps. I also tryed it on my sohc and noticed 18 degree drop

 

did u have a water temp gauge hooked up to?

 

Have you ever calculated the rate at which a heatsoaked IM is going to transfer heat to intake charge rushing past it under boost? Is an approximate foot of thirty or forty degree cooler metal going to do anything at all? Since temperature transfer takes place more readily between extremes of temperature, ie - hot water stuck in the freezer freezes faster than cold water stuck in the freezer, how hard is it going to be to make a case wherein Joey posits that the IM acting as a heatsink and radiator for the hot cylinder head actually results in a net charge cooling effect vs anything Hyundaidata blathers on about to pad their pockets with money?

Most heterosexual men are going to derive more satisfaction from spending that Hondata IM gasket money on a ***** to stick up their own *** that it is possible to derive from the Hondata IM gasket itself.

 

i had a signifiagant drop in intake air temps measured off the stock IAT sensor while datalogging.... granted this is attached to the IM but still its all i have to go on. im not saying this is good or bad, just saying it dropped.

from the fact its reusable and you dont have to scrape ---- *** old paper off the head every time you take the IM off is reason enough for me to own one (i only spent 26 bux shipped though from a HT user)

 

I've never had to scrape off paper gasket on a Honduh, they stay stuck to one surface and pop off easily. I also just stick one IM on and stay with it, short of a track-only car I've never seen a vehicle where one or two psi of boost didn't compensate for any IM swap, so the need to pull an IM is rare in Joey World.

Hell, Goforth is running an OEM IM on his CRX, I'd line it up against a 700 whp HT user vehicle any day of the week, from dig or roll.

 

well thats you, ive had the same skunk2 IM installed on a b18b and 2 b20's in my car and the second b20 has been in and out a couple times.

when i take my head off to get ported this spring its going to come off again. thats at least 5 times and at minumum 10 bux a gasket thats twice as much as the "hondata-style" gasket i bought for 26 shipped.

 

I wish I had your luck. I think i've had 2 or 3 come off easy like that. Out of the several hundred i've replaced that isn't a very good winning ratio.
