If you care about your engine, want it to last as much as possible and arent cheaping out on parts, then yes its worth it. If you dont care and you're doing a straight up hmt kit, then its not worth it.

There is also this:

Yeah but if it truely lowered the intake temps at all, there would be an increase in power.. so which is it? Increase or no, and where's the prizoof?

if it didnt work, I doubt any of the top import drag racers would be using them.

Mine was a custom piece made by a guy in his free time at work. I am guessing the Hondata ones are thinner, ppl would raise hell if they had to run longer studs or bolts.

once again, its not about making power you dumbass.

Its main purpose is to LOWER INTAKE TEMPS. it doesnt always result in a gain of power. Lower intake temps are always good.

and I was referring more or so to bisimoto.

i doubt a racecar would heatsoak a IM likw my car would driving around in traffic. it makes 1 run down the strip then shuts off.

they are reusable so if you have your IM off a few times then they basically pay forthemselves and as a bonus they DO lower your intake temps. if this actually makes power in your engine is a totally different thing.

IMHO i would imagine a turbo car intake temps would actually be more important than a NA car since temps under boost are always higher then the ambient air.
