Just because you run 93 octane doesn't necesarily mean it won't detonate. The higher octane rating just means it resists it more. If your ignition timing ends up advanced too far, it will detonate regardless. If you think it's pinging, why not check into a homemade detonation detector if it bothers you that badly? It would at least give you some kind of indication. Oh, and tune that ----!(dyno preferably)

 

it's running TE with a basemap. i'll tune it in the spring once everything is finished. the good news is i barely drive the thing so the once a week it goes i've just been taking it easy. just thought i'd ask the question, thanks for all the replies.
