Worst case scenario is a bent valve.

Compression check will tell you if any are bent.

All seems to be alright, I put a new oil seal and timing belt on it today and it runs/idles smooth, maybe slightly louder than before but its prolly the vitara's, I've got .005 piston to wall clearance which is over twice the service limit. Anyway I did a compression check and here's my results from #1 (timing belt side)

1 2 3 4
1st test 140 140 140 148

2nd test 140 140 140 148

dont know why the #4 is 8psi higher but i'm not going to fret over 8psi let me know what you think, I've seen some vitara setups with compression down in the 120's,

I took .005 off my head and .003 off my block, the littlest I could get away with while still having them machined flat.

my vitaras dont hit the valves at all. i had the timing messed up by a tooth and i still got a leak on the side that i cant figure out where its coming from.

I had 140psi across on my beat up high mileage stock z6, with vitara`s that is not a bad number at all. Should be fine.
