Tonite we put on the Mitsu 3000GT Blow off valve, and put in a FP gauge, and a bigger fuel pump. But it didnt seem to help, so Electric pump is going on next.

It was hitting 15psi tonite too, lol

Know that we got the Home made bonnet secured a supposedly a better fuel pump we tried it out.15psi
an no idea what rpm we were at the autometer tach inop DOA.
Jeff was waiting for v-tech to kick in lol Thats all she will spin she wont spin no more.....The trailer park 283 used a lil oil today but all seems well.Boost referenced a holley race pump an took the signal right off the wastegate actuator hose an well thats when boost spiked at 16psi-seamed to pull really good but with no intercooler an fuel pressure issue it goes away when it hits second gear.needs definite fine tuning...The carb bonnet is working quite well now that the blow off valve is installed an it spools 10lbs boost quickly. I think the next update we need to take some video of some boost happening.Sounds really good when she ripps through first an partiall of second dumping straight off the turbo.Getting close to dyno time just to see what she got for power figures. Will keep you all posted...Thanks again Jeff

You boost referenced and still getting push back.. if only I had one of my own sbc's turbo'd I could tell you more..

how are the plugs looking, pulled them yet? You said you enriched the secondaries.. right, but since boost is kickin pretty well I'm sure you're still running lean at higher rpms??

How did you set timing on that thing?

I'm really anxious to see how the finish product comes out.

I'm sure nobody thinks anything of the exhaust dump out the fenderwell, they say to themselves "it's an old truck, I'm sure it has it's share of normal problems.. like the heads have been eaten away by rust :P

Well, I think the 1/8th NPT fitting was a bit to large, the hole got tapped out to big inside of the actual pump and was blowing air directly into the crankcase..

Oh well, switching to an Electric pump, regulator and FMU, so we can get this ------- thing dialed in. Plus we need to get some sort of a downpipe on this thing so we can weld in a o2 Bung and put a Wideband o2 sensor on it to see whats really going on.

The plugs are a little on the lean side.

Jeff

Time for an update on the trailer park 283.Got the down pipe made an installed an an o2 bung welded in.Sounds pretty good but need to get exhaust out of the engine bay so i had a local exhaust shop weld up 3 in straight pipe an dump it out into a 4in madrel bend in front of the drivers rear wheel.Jeff installed his wide band o2 an in the process he melted my ignigtion coil.My fault though cuz i had bare tach wire under dash an it touched my braided fuel pressure isolator line.Got it fixed that night an fuel was good till secondaries kicked in then pig rich.Looked like a diesel exhaust solid black smoke.Jetting was 68 primary an 78 secondary with a 6.5pv,Thought i needed more fuel before wide band installed so i jetted it up 78primary an 85 secondary with 4.5 pv.Way to much so back to origanal settings.Ran great until secondaries opened up.Dynoed it next day cause it ran good but rich on upper rpm. Half throttle an it still pulled 208 an 293 ft lbs torque all before 3500 rpms.Lots more lerkinging below the surface just need to get it out. This 283 has rpm potential of 7000 if fuel correct.Dropped rear jets to 67 an tried an an wow it ripped no chugging.Need wide band an some more fine tuning.Cant do to much tuning now cause its raining here an tires dont hook no more.Time for the mickey thompson drag radials an see how she goes no.Videos will come next look for them in near future.

Ya, the Trailerpark SBC needs some carb work big time and she will rip nicely. Plus its in need of a turbo here pretty quick too. 208whp isnt bad for a 1/2 throttle pull on the dyno. At WOT it made 160ish whp lol.. It sounds very cool.

Pics of the dyno and more HMT ---- coming soon

function wise it bolted on an sealed good but i couldnt produce enough boost for it to have to work.Thats what happens when u use a turbo that works off of a 933ci engine an u stick it on a 283 ci engine not enough exhaust flow.....
