The dart is something my buddy is working on for a guy. 70 swinger full resto. pain in the *** it is!

my mother has a '72 dart, eventually it will have a rebuilt /6 in it with a small turbo just for fun she doesn't want a V8, but i can't leave it stock either

You'd have to find out how the Vitara engine rotates in relation to the intake side. All the pics I've found show the Vitara motors as virtual mirror-images, when looking at the pulley side. If they are clockwise-spinning motors, that means the arrows should point to the FW. That would give it the right offset as well as giving your valves the room they want.

FYI not all OEM/replacement pistons are offset anyways. For Hondas, however, they generally are, so you'd want that correct above all else.

from what i see the vitara motors have the cams on the opposite sides of the head compared to hondas. its the wich way the motor turns that begins to baffle me.

edit: ie exhaust and intake are swapped relative to the T-belt

Ok not too much accomplished here last night, but here it is anyways. Got the pistons facing the right way now (thanks guys for catching that) and the oil pump and rear main saddle mounted.

good man on turning the pistons around the proper way.

i had to uninstall mine as well. worth the 2 hours for sure.

Mine are pointing to the timing belt but really i dont think it matters much as with stock valves and the low compression I cant see any issues.Looks good Trevor keep up the good work

mine were facing the timing belt for 10k + miles and counting, on 20psi for the last 5k.
