Default For anyone with idle problems

I recently finished my turbo setup on my 89 CRX hf. Everything ran great except for the fact that when the car was warmed up, the idle was at 2250 to 2500 rpm. When it was cold it idled at about 3000! I looked around and talked to people and was told to check my vaccum. Sure enough, the T from my brake booster to my boost gauge had a leak. 10 minutes and 3 new hose clamps later all is well and I am idiling at about 1500-1000.

First I just wanted this to be a easy thing to check if your idle is excessively high and you cant figure out the problem.

Second, my idle is lower, but it's still not where I want it to be.

My manual says you warm the engine up, unhook the 2p sensor wire, adjust the idle screw, turn off the car, reconnect the wire, and reset the ecu. I've tried this a couple times and nothing's happened. What am I doing wrong?

Lastly, the idle bounces. When it was up around 2500 with the vaccum leak it'd make a farting noise like when u turn the car off, and it'd drop down to around 2250 and then bounce back and forth. Now my idle is lower and it does the same thing. I've tried changing my settings (btw, I'm running the SMC controller) but it's still bouncing. Whats going on?

Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

yea thats a bitch, i have that problem but i dont have exhaust on my current engine so im gonna wait till i get a new one in to fix it. i have replaced every hose on the intake manifold, tried new intake mani gaskets, and a bunch of other ----. it sucks to be idleing at 2500rpms with a 3" open downpipe... but it sounds badass and shoots fire.

do you have a cel on right now?

Sounds to me like the 1000rpm/idle setting needs ajusting either leaner or richer on the SMC until you get a steady idle.

No, I don't have a cel on right now, but I messed with my smc settings and that did the trick. Thanks
