Coolant inlets an outlets I used NPT to hose barb fittings. The threads are slightly different, but with brass fittings there is enough give to make them seal just fine.

The oil feed I never had to find out the thread pitch or size. It came with the stock fitting the line from the truck screws into. I drilled the center of that fitting out and tapped it for NPT. I then screwed an NPT to AN flare fitting into that and screwed my feed line to that.
The oil drain is a standard garret style 2 bolt flange.

You could probably get away without the coolant back there. Especially given you won't have engine heat in the oil also. Really I think you could get away without water in the engine bay, but I just felt much safer with it. With the VGT closed up at cruise the housing takes in more heat than if it were opened up

i figure ill most likely run the coolant eventually im just trying to keep the cost down for now

hey - not sure if u have this aero - but it could help maybe?

also - im awaiting approval or something for ur new forum.



its all just can bus bs.

high and low data links... unfortunately this wont get us very far without knowing what the stupid can bus data actually is. Now - the adjuster motor, and module that runs it/is part of it - perhaps we can find someone willing to beat the proprietary info from a holset rep

i got a guy working on trying to get the data... might be a while tho.

I was thinking it'd be simpler to make a simpler method - like 5 throttle position selected adjutment tables... maybe have it mostly open no matter what boost is

then - when the tps is below 35% - then at 25% open for 50% for <0psi - then have that sucker shut when it goes over 75% TPS @ with it opening up as it makes boost of course.

Lemme know what u think about a small board to control it.

steve, this is much like what I was thinking... I would like to reference RPM and MAP to make a small table. I thought that TPS would work well, but if you were at lower rpm and stomped on it, it would open the vanes all the way, making for slow spool.

With MAP and RPM, you would have a more complete picture of what the motor is doing. You then create 4 or 5 positions for the turbo vanes, and have a stepper or servo move it.

I am talking with a few people about making a board that would take the RPM and Map signals, convert it to 5v, then convert the 5v to PWM to control a servo or stepper.

If anyone has suggestions, that would be great. I am not a computer nut by any means.

thats a nice detroit diesel motor way up there, see plenty of those at my work (harpers detroit diesel :P)

but that is a marine motor.. wish i had some pics of the turbos i've had to lug around at work.

this car shall be wicked!
