Default Official JG-Fab.com s2k Race car build post updated weekly

Well many have requested so here it goes:

Yes very heavy duty solid engine mounts
Car only gets worked on after 7pm on week days and all day on weekends
This is 2 weeks worth of work, engine bay shave is almost done and wire tuck almost done, roll cage should be done this coming monday so car will be dropped off to get painted candy apple red (under hood, in car, in trunk, outside, a complete new paint job =))

Engine was moved 1 3/8" further foward in the engine bay to get the trans to fit in the tunnel without modification to the actual frame (tunnel met the 5 lb sledge hammer )

Fuel cell is in the works later next weekend, more pics coming this sunday
Cage is 1 5/8" .083 4130 chromoly all tigged and made by me (just got a nice bender)

Here are a few pictures from today, harness bar is in, still need bars to tunnel, top hoop, door bars, and front verticals, will be doing all of them the rest of the week

Not often you see an s2k with pedals like these (old man making me custom covers soon that will match factory but have bigger brake pedal to look factory)

Here is fitment picture with seat in the car, the seat is all the way back in this picture, fits like a glove

When car gets running again it will be pushing somewhere between 800-900whp
Car weights 2700 lbs with me in it (when I decide to go pro class I will do tube chassis and make it weight 1900 with me in it )
Tranny of choice is chevy Th400 full trans brake, manual valve body, b&m ratchet reverse patter shifter, line lock, etc

When you say "race car" what exact does that mean? Drag, road race, drift, auto-x,...? I'm assuming a drag since you moved the engine further ahead and that's the last thing you'd want in any of the other choices.

Yes it is a full drag car now
also the 3 speed auto tranny wouldnt exactly be a good choice for any other type of racing

Looks good. I would double check the angle on the down bars. I know SCCA and IMSA have a 30 degree rule. I don't know anything NRHA or IRHA. Other then that it looks like you have been putting in the time.
