Dude I don't really think its that easy... Bumpsteer can be a FATAL problem, I would hate for you to do all this work and then have a car that is too dangerous to drive... here are a couple of links as to how scary bumpsteer is and what can be done to measure it..
a company put a 2jz in a rx7 and they had to move the steering rack. they drove it half way down a track and deemed it was too dangerous too drive so now its a 'show' car... here are the links

We did that at Ross, house... The street was LITTERED with Blown out gatorade bottles and ----..... Untill 4 sherrifs showed up pissed. LOL. Ran all of our IDs, Even Joshes dad... HAHAHA 50 year old repremanded by the popo for acting like a 13 year old....

thanks for the info. when i get to that point i will be sure to post pics to get feedback from everyone... i'm still not entirely sure what i am going to do, but i'm hoping it will be safe to just lower the rack... that is about my only option.

just got done reading the thread... that a killer project, makes me want to do something, but i wont :-\ and now im scared of bump stear. :l

I have been bump steering cars for ten plus years. When you get there let me know. I am going to play around with my rack somemore this year. I will take some pictures.

I have about 35 dollars invested into my bump steer kit, don't spend any money because you have most of the stuff.

Im actually in the process of doing something sililar to this. going to be a f20 rwd eg coupe though. Going to be all tube chassis though because i knew i was going to have to cut up the firewall and floorpan anyways. Good luck with the project im deff going to follow this thread. I will also post a thread on my build as well. My was was a k series car. everythign is pulled out now and the entire floorpan is cut out. gunna start fabbing up the chassis in the next couple days!

tag racecraft here in oakville did a tubeframe drag civic with a 960hp f20c, ford 9" rear end and a getrag tranny. they are trying to sell it for $30k. :8
