i made it clear to the owner i wanted pics of the engine/setup on the dyno. i sure wouldn't want to have to rip it all out, put it together on the dyno, then pull it all apart and put it back in the car... :P

 

Yah, kind of makes me wonder what he has against a chassis dyno. I guess he's hot for his tuner.

 

i guess he had a bad experience once where he wasted a new pair of drag radials doing a tune.

 

I'd rather smoke a set of drag radials than go through the work to put that ****** on an engine dyno.

 

He must have been on some small roller dyno where they didn't know how to strap the car down correctly. I can see some problems with a dinky roller Dyno Dynamics, but even those hook well at the power he'll be making when you strap the car right, especially a RWD vehicle that weight transfers correctly. I've hooked 800 whp on a 24" drum, using 26" tall crap tires; they were 225/75R15 S-speed rated Hankooks on some fat fives.

I almost think the price of DRs is worth the labor to yank all of that. All the same, engine dynos are fun.
