Which ROM did you download?

You wont be able to activate VTEC from your PM7 ECU.

Hi,

thanks for your quick answer.
i did some testing and now i can switch to double map (boost maps) on the PGMFI-NG28.bin rom from the turboedit homepage and the pm7_ng26.bin map found in the pgmfi forum.

will the PGMFI-NG28.bin run on a PM7 or will it only run on PM6, i read that PM7s have sometimes some problems with PM6 code.

why can't i activate VTEC? is it not possible to use the 1-wire solution on a pm7?

can you tell where i can find the latest development rom that will run on a pm7?

whats about the map sensor sizing option and some other options on the properies form in TE? why aren't all of them working, is this normal because the function is not implemented yet or is this a error from my side?

so will it work when i use a external rpm switch for the vtec solenoid and copy the right map segments at the activation rpm?

Thanks
Malte.

pm7-ng code is buggy and shouldnt be used.

all other NG code is PM6 friendly only. it will work in an internal PA sensor Pr4 as well.

no other development code out there now is PM7 friendly although it should be easy to port over the NG48 code to be Pm7 friendly although I dont not know how to do that myself. you would have to become part of the development team at PGMFI or ask them and see if it would be easy for you to do

MAP sensor features are not functional...they are there for future use. If you plan on using a larger map sensor, you have to manually edit the crossover tables...hex editing

a PM7 doesnt have the circuitry for 1-wire VTEC

you will need an external VTEC controller or RPM activated switch if you can get the boost code to run on your PM7

Hi,

that are not good news... because a pm6 is very hard to get for me.
i'am allready a member of the pgmfi groupe but in the past i only developed for pw0. my problem is that i have a turbo car and need a engine management solution very urgent.
because the pw0 boost development is far away from beeing completed i thought to switch to pm7 but as it seems a pm7 is also a "no go" for boost... :-(

do you know whats the main problem in the pm6 NG code to run on a pm7? as far as i know the circuit boards are identical, so why isn't it running? maybe i can modify the asm code if i know whats the problem. asm is no problem for me. the only problem is that i have no overview over the current development status and time is my main problem.

thanks
Malte.

best, bet...send a PM to Blundar on the PGMFI board. He can easily tell you how to port the NG48 code to a PM7 base.

He has done it before and probably hasnt because of lack of time.

Hey guys,

just thought i would say this program you have taken the time and patience to code is great and very straight forward.

i just read through all of these posts and links provided and think i have a pretty good understanding of how the program works.

one question i just want to verify...

the PGMFI_NG28 bin file is PM6 code...and all of the provided bins are there for the stock fuel and ignition maps, so we can import them into the PM6 code...therefore all in all we can only use a PM6 ECU for chipping? or will the code run stable on all PM OBD0 cept the PM7?

As well if i am running a 90-93 B18 in my 91 hatch, if i chipped the PM6 with the PR4 maps would that work or would i need to have a PR4 and chip that??

thanks in advanced and i look forward to using this great program

Mike

I say when at all possible use the ECU that came in your car.

Civic - PM6
Integra - PR4

The pm6 codebase will work in either of those pretty well.

I have run both a PM6 & PR4 in my integra and have been able to tune in good maps using either with no side effects.

Yes, you can copy/paste in PR4 maps in the stable code. Its what you should do.

Hum, I'm using try11 and ng48 and didn't even notice column issues. I am still seeing a boost cut though. Haven't really been boosting, sorta waiting to finish tune... but almost had a bmw drive into my on the highway today and floored it as I did an emergency lane change... felt myself bouncing off 8 psi as i insta spooled into the other lane.

Any tips as to what to look for with the boost cut problem? I riched the maps up for boost a bunch, can email the bin if you want.
