Basics when creating a basemap

Re: Basics when creating a basemap
Sad to say but ALL OF THIS has been covered...multiple times. You just need to spend the time to look and do a little research.
Yes it would be nice if it was just handed over and in a lot of cases it is. The people that helped develop and create all of this are now VERY busy people, with real careers and familes that dont always allow them to spoonfeed people who are most likely not willing to give anything back once they have what they need.
Instead, why dont one of you take the reigns and get a little notariety and make one...

lol...no more replies after that. It took me two years of research and messing with my car to understand tunning. Even then I still don't fully understand it. There's no easy around this. Every car's different...

Re: Basics when creating a basemap
I understand, I am learning on my own and have tuned a few of my friend's cars now, but I wasn't asking for an easy, I just wanted a guideline. Something along the lines of "don't do this because..." or "if this value is .... then..." or simply "watch out for..." general things like that I thought might be helpful.

Re: Basics when creating a basemap
how about this : borrow the code for the ms basemap generator and write a standalone that suits your XYZ system. it works pretty well so long as you give it smart values for torque and power. best to get the low rpm/load section right first, then it will start and run, then you are free to mess with it via wideband and logs.
or, just get a ms and use it. dead cheap, and bloody good.
