Default vtec

hey guys buddy of mine just picked up a 91 si, with a vtec sohc for cheap, but it's runinn' the stock si non-vtec cpu how do we fix this to get the vtec working properly?? also the engine is D16z

jesus man, there is about 100 write ups to do this on the internet. the right way to do it (in my opinion) is to convert the car to obd1 using a conversion harness, dizzy, ecu and o2 sensor from a 92-95 civic ex.

or you could just plug in a pg7 (dohc integra ecu) then use an rpm switch to activate vtec if your a cheap ******

but then your ecu isnt exactly controlling timing now is it?

the right way to do it is get a pw0 or pr3 i <3 obd0

Yeah...and then you have the issues of knock sensor and dual o2 sensors to deal with, not to mention the fuel/timing maps that are made for an engine that moves alot more air through it with a higher rpm range and powerband. :P

Go with the obd1 swap...it's the best thing you can ever do. Crome on p05/p06/p28 ownz BRE on pr3/pw0's anyday.
