Low Oil Pressure, Stalling motor
Well the curse y7 strikes again.
again
y7, Stock
y8 Intake,
450cc Injectors
.42.48 Turbo, FMIC Blah blah blah
Car starts fine, has a high idle at warm up but then idles oddly anywhere from 900rpm to 1200rpm, the odd time hunting from high to low.
Tuned for 14.7-15AFR at idle. 12-13deg timing with dizzy turned to match.
But after the car runs for a while it stall, Idle oil pressure is LOW, 20psi or less. on a cheap guage, but even a cheap guage should read ZERO at anytime.
Has The classis y-series oil pump struck again? Any insight as the owner even hates this car now!!!

Re: Low Oil Pressure, Stalling motor
well it's obviously going to be lower than a b16 because it's not a dohc vtec. Plus you need to consider the wear on the engine and pump. I believe the book says you can have a surprisingly low oil pressure and still be safe. So definately get a reputable gauge on it and drive it around and see what it does. I'm willing to bet that idling problem isn't related to the oil pressure problem, possible an iacv issue.
