So I got off my *** to finally try and take care of this...
Car is a 92 Integra, b16a swap.
Check the pan, no dents, took it off, pick up is clean no dirts and no bends or anything, looks good.
Oil was a little on the dark side, changed the oil, but I was too lazy to go get a filter, why because I'm stupid.
Installed a new oil pressure switch and an Oil Pressure Gauge...Start the car, its cold so it jumps to 1500-2000 rpms, yeah I got to fix that, and the gauge reads 60psi..... I drive it around the light again comes on and off.
Go back home...at idle 750rpms...the gauge reads 20psi....I left the gauge in the engine, its mechanic, I didn't want a line to break and fill the car with oil, but I probably should do it to see what happens when the light comes on.

I've been looking everywhere and can't find it, even in the shop manuals, maybe I'm just stupid, but
1). What is the oil pressure supposed to be?

I also read on a thread that the filter could be clogged and cause the intermitent problem....
2.) Any truth to this?....I will go ahead and change the filter ASAP to see what happens....

If everything fails after this, I'm guessing it'll be the pump, but I was hoping it was a quick easy fix. Hopefully the filter is the problem.

Thanks for the help....I tried searching and all it kept coming back with was turbo oil pressure issues...

It is weird, it sometimes works fine, or seems to be running fine, then the light comes on, but its not like it lights solid, its just faint.
I wonder if the gauge cluster could be f'ing up.....I think it's just a light bulb, nothing big, but who knows..

I'm going to try the oil filter...hopefully that's it...
I just wasted money on oil, have to find a way to reuse the one I just put in :P....without getting it dirty.

when my h22 is cold it reads about 80-90 psi when it warms up at around 3000rpm it reads about 60 psi and when its warm at idle its about 20-30 psi

So my pressure is good at idle, I'm still hoping it is a clogged old oil filter, I never changed it its the one that came on the engine, who knows how long it's been on.

If not, can the pump malfunction like that, or is it a either works or doesn't thing.

Seeing how the pump is mechanical you would think that it's either all or nothing. I'd say that your pump is fine.

That's what I'm thinking that the pump either works or it doesn't, but I'm not an expert and this hasn't happen to me before. No biggie, I'll get a new filter in probably tomorrow, and see what happens.

I'm hoping that's all, the car's been sitting for too long, it would kinda suck if in the end it was just a clogged oil filter, how dumb will I feel, but then again is the cheapest solution.

I should have just check this before, but I'm busy. .

possibly a bad oil pressure sensor?? didnt read much so i dont know if you changed it :P

give me a freakin break. i dont read much . If thats the case, id say your oil pump is on its way out.
