with the head off use a large straight edge and feeler gauge to measure any warpage.
the manuals will have the specs you need to be under.

Exactly what I'm gonna do. I just hope the deck is flat because I sure as hell don't wanna pull the engine again right now. If the head needs machining, I can live with that.

Anyone know a good place to get a straightedge? I already have flat feeler gauges.
