im gonna do a b18c1 swap for around 3k, that includes performance clutch, flywheel, mounts, linkage, and everything to swap my turbo kit over to it.

I dont think any dx will beat a b18c1 at 12psi from a t3/t04e in a crx.

you just cant get that kind of power from a dseries unless its fully built and sleeved or at least pinned.

Build the top end and rev to 9k, it wont be too too fast, but hey, you'll be revving to 9k.

Get the damn turbo kit, and only smog your car in Compton. You will always be able to pay someone to smog your car. Don't let the socialists run your life. Turbo, Turbo, turbo!

I have 106, I would like at least 130's if possible or better. Just to be able to hang with the mini vans if nothing else.
here's my suggestion, take it however you want.
of course start out with the standard i/h/e (which you have), then turn the fuel pressure up a bit to compensate for the greater airflow (i use the b&m commandflo), next a clutch/flywheel (i use a lightweight flywheel, but some people don't like them in traffic. so that's your choice), then if that's still not enuf, swap to a lower geared tranny. i'm not sure if the 96 dx and ex trannys are the same, but if not, see about locating an ex. shorter gears will definitely give you an advantage on quick minivan races.

i know this is all basic stuff, but's that's why it's the basic stuff. that's where you start, then if that isn't enough you have to look at other options.

btw-my d16a6 w/ i/h/e, cf clutch, UR flywheel, crane ign, Quaife, B&M, stock internals, 17" wheels, WW body kit, and full interior is good for 10.0 1/8 mile times. with the 60 shot, 9.4-9.5.

hope this helps.
