Getting power from a d series

Re:Getting power from a d series
my whole turbo kit cost me about 500 bux. i had most of the parts but everything else i got at my local junkyard for cheap!!!! try looking for the parts you need and see what you come up with. my friend bought a turbo from a 1g eclispe for 40 bux. works great. i mean i got all the nessacry things for cheap. injectors, hf manifold, full mpfi swap for 50 bux, and the only thing i spent the most money on was the safc and and exhaust.
i dont know, but try and see what you can come up with

I agree turbo is the way to go. Unfortunately, the are tought to get passed by california smog inspections, so I am going to have to pass on a turbo. How much is a fair price for a y8 and the necessary wiring a crap for a non vtec to vtec conversion?

Re:Getting power from a d series
I got my z6 head and intake for $100. I still need a distributor and ecu, but I figure total it will come to about 150 maybe a bit more. I'm staying OBD0, so the wiring will be pretty basic for me also. Oh yeah, hehe, I forgot that 96 was OBD2

Re:Getting power from a d series
nitrous or turbo are about it on a d, and unless its fully built and 15+psi its still gonna be slow, i built my kit for under 2g, its not that expensive, sell your rims and get a turbo kit. it's 100% worth it.

Re:Getting power from a d series
if you are worried about smog inspection etc....
forget about messing with the engine unless you plan on doing another "re-swap" or "re-mod" before getting your car smogged. I say go with a nitrous kit you'll be happy with it, and you wont be continuously abusing it and pushing it to its limit on a daily basis. Plus before inspection, its easy to take out the "brain" and solenoids, etc...
d16 with 55 shot of nitrous -> 15 second run at the track which would give an stock integra a run for its money
Just my $0.02

um.. my d16a6 crx si runs 15.5's without NOS. you can do an engine swap and stay legal down there. It's a Pain in the *** but aslong as you get a 96+ motor w/ its ecu and proper emissions crap you can get a legalized swap. I'd say go for a b18b for more punch with little wiring changes.
