I know what you're sayin...i'm just bein' a wise-*** Could be something to do with CV-joints and how they wear out.

 

I didn't remove the dust shields on my knuckles with b series axles, I think it's just std and hf that have to do that.

 

I know we just threw the whole knuckle w/axle from a 92-93 into my friend's 91 and it went perfectly fine. We also put some 91 axles in his B-swapped CRX and we did have to remove the dust shields...not because the axle was too long but b/c they wouldnt seat against the hub correctly w/them on the inside of the crx hub.
Oh yeah, his crx is a 91 Si.
