90-91 is slighlty shorter from 92-93. Only prob. is you have to get them from Honda, and unfortunately they (A) are madd expensive, and (B) pretty much stopped carrying parts for cars that old unless specially ordered. The Autozone axles are all the same length for those years, only difference is abs and non-abs. Abs has the gear on the end. Order ones for non-abs and just pull the dust covers off the inside of your hubs and they fit like a glove. Half shafts should all be the same lengths.

i am not understanding how they fit if they are diff lengths :1

wouldn't the track have to be wider too?? or are the knuckles diff??

it makes sense to me that something else would have to be diff for it to fit

It's not much of a diff. in length...not enough to really make a big deal about. I think he's trying to do it so he won't have to remove the dust shields inside the hubs.

I got 2 new axles toady for the 92. The parts store list the 90-91 and 92-93 as the same number (without ABS)

a 3/8" is a HUGE difference when it comes to susp geometry, a 3/8" longer axle would have to push the knuckle out unless there is a diff hub for that certain year/model/axle

theres not a difference in lenghts of the half shafts but some half shafts have a male end and some have a female end which will effect what axles u get....

3/8" would lock the axle and hub solid...thus the reason you remove the shields. Also have to take into account the fact of the cv joint placement and the ability for it to slide in and out. That's probably why Vatozone lists the same part #...shorter axle that would just slide out a hair more for later years.

I know this...but they're not going into a DA chassis...

i knwo what he is trying to do, i've done it before

i was saying it doesnt make any sense that the axles would be diff in a DA chassis when everything else is the same.

hypothetical:
if on a 91 teg the axle is "standard" length, but on a 92 its 3/8" longer. wouldnt there have to be something different to accomodate the extra 3/8" of axle say, different hub knuckle?? trans?? LCA??

see what i'm saying
