what if you dont have one? does it just need to be like held in place then so the bolt can be cracked loose?

Jordan strap a chain wrech around the crank pulley(with a piece of rubber under so you dont mar it up)to hold it, then put your socket on and use a long ratchet and hit it with hard shots from a hammer. You have to shock it loose.

So if the flywheel isnt on I'm assuming the engine isnt in the car then right? Well if you dont have a flywheel, do you atleast have 2 or 3 flywheel bolts? they are special thread but just screw them in a little ways then get a long pry bar and slide in between the bolts. Basically so the engine doesnt rotate around when your trying to bust the crank pulley bolt free. Otherwise you will need a 1/2 impact gun. Electric ones suck *****, definatly need a decent air compressor and impact gun.

Good luck Jordan hope you bust the nut :P I even had trouble breaking my crank pulley bolt loose with an Impact gun. It took a while for it to finally loosen.
