Default 96 EX Tranny - How to ID?

I'm going to look at a 96 EX Tranny Saturday. Guy said it had 100k miles and no grinds. $100 picked up.

Question: How can I verify that it is an EX tranny?

The casting will have a small circle that says A000 or B000. The B is an EX tranny. The sticker onthe mouting flange should also say S40

I have one in my basement. That crazy high gear is great on the highway.
