Here is some update. I can barely type how my fingers are frozen...
It was cold all the ------- day... I started at 11h00 trying to figure it out how to get out this damn crank pulley. I removed the starter and tried to block the flywheel, but the screwdriver was too long and wasnt holding. I had to buy another 1/2 ratchet bar because the one I have is to small. I used this video as example http://videos.streetfire.net/video/970beaef-ef9a-4b9f-b451-9999009f24df.htm The bolt finaly get out at ~2h pm. Then it took me 1/2 hour to loose the alternator nut because I don't have the good tools... I finally pull out the water pump and put the new one. I've only put 2 bolts because it was too dark. When I wanted to take the remaining bolts, I drop 2 and only found 1 on the ground :1 The cars drive at 2 feet behind be, it pretty fun to do this job in the street, I recommand it :X I'll probably continue friday or saturday depending of the weather... Now, I'm hungry as ---- and I need a beer! :P |

Re: Car stopped and won't start
Here is some update.
It's ------- cold outside. It's only -4 degree but with a ------- continous wind.... All the belts are now reinstalled, crank pulley is installed and torqued. I did some stupid thing with the starter... Wednesday I removed the 2 long bolts that hold the starter's motor. The rotor fell off and I didn't try to put it together after this. I just tought I was going to reinstall it the inverse way I removed it, but error.... I reinstalled it and wasn't able to put the rotor in the starter. I should have finish by now, but with this stupid starter I lost 1 hour. (stupid me) I'll do few things tonight and install this ------- starter tomorrow in the morning. At least there is less cars in the street in the weekend... |
