Im no genius and im not sure what effect it will have if any, but in one of those first pics you have two of the rods facing one direction (look at the bearing tangs) and two facing the other.
I just hope the bearing doesnt fully rely on that tang to stay in place as far as rotation is concerned since two would be facing the wrong way and would have the rotational force (not sure how much there actually is) pushing against the angled side versus the flat part. not sure if that made sense

Low compression n/a motor for the win I can't wait to get the engine broke in and the turbo installed.

Did you have to remove material from the girdle? I didnt touch my girdle and everything seemed to clear just fine, I've been running it for a year and so far no big problems besides blowing headgaskets.
