Biscuit's Engine Build Thread HELP!! No oil pressure when cranking
5 Attachment(s)
Well, I've started my first engine build ever. I've been collecting parts for the past few months and think i finally have about everything that i need for the engine. I am building a D16y8 that i would like to see 300WHP out of. I currently have a 42/48 T3. I'm going to have to upgrade the turbo when my budget allows.
parts for this build include... Vitara Pistons(Standard Bore) Eagle H Beam Rods ARP Headstuds ACL Main and Rod Bearings Full Engine Gasket Set New Oil Pump New Water Pump 450cc Bluetop Injectors Prothane Motor Mount Inserts Stock y8 head that has been decked and ported on the exhaust side I will probably max out the T3 for now and buy a T3/T4 combo towards the end of this year. On to the build. Attachment 19286 I installed the polyurethane motor mount inserts and filled them with window weld. Attachment 19287 My machinist honed the cylinders and hot tanked the block. The block looks like ----. I've been debating painting it but i really don't want to go through the trouble. Attachment 19288 Attachment 19289 Vitara's and Eagle Rods installed into the block. Attachment 19290 Underside of the block. Notice my ghetto ass block notching using a dremel tool. It took ------- forever. Thats what i have so far. I'll update as i get more done. _________________________________________________ |

Just run it stock until you are ready to tune it. Don't ----- it either. Get on it a little and let it decel and a little more each time, higher revs, etc. Loading up the rings will make sure the motor is broken in properly. The first few miles are the most important. |
Re: Biscuit's Engine Build Thread
