He currently has a B18B with the 92-93 GSR YS1 gearbox, he can probably give you good rpm/gear advice.

thanks Jo. I'll give him a call in the next couple days. I'll be changing my wheel bearings tomorrow/friday, and replacing the front main seal. fun fun.

Speed Phreak: I actually thought about getting another JDM S1. The one I had before took a ---- on me. I loved teh acceleration with it. I dont remember cruising on teh highway with it soo much anymore. It's been a while. If I do get the 90-91 JDM S1 tranny (small spline) would I be able to swap the 5th gear from this gearbox to it?

AFAIK, yes you can swap the 90-91 LS 5th gear set into the JDM J1/S1 *****. Just beaware that the LS 5th gear will feel like "6th" compared to the rest of the gears. In speed vs RPM terms if you put the JDM S1/J1 in 5th gear, it compares rather closely to an LS tranny in 4th. Take that for what it's worth when considering gear swappage.

hmm maybe I'll just get teh S1/J1 and not modify it at all....I rarely ever go up to 100 anyways. I just like to accelerate quickly, and even turboed this LS tranny feels long as ----.

Should I get teh new tranny from jdmshit.com or who would you reccomend? jdmshit wants 450 plus shipping I beleive. that is their starting price on B series trannies at least.
