Re: Xbox 360 ring of death
All 360's have the HDMI output. Early ones without a cable/port simply wire it.

Re: Xbox 360 ring of death
Forget it. If your 360 is so old as to lack the hdmi port then just wire a VGA cable to it, or buy one for like $10.

Re: Xbox 360 ring of death
Oh and as a note I just had to tear this 360 down remount the heatsinks and heat it with a heat gun to resoilder the cracked joints. No biggie, easy 3-red light hardware failure code 0102 fix.

Re: Xbox 360 ring of death
ok, so talking about this earlier ------- hexed me or something. i went to start up my 360 today, after 3 days of not playing it, and i get the 3 red lights. muther fuckers!! i'm so pissed. i just put points on my gamertag to d/l new gh3 song.
so how can i do a temporary fix? rap it in a blanket you say?? |
Re: Xbox 360 ring of death
360's sound sweet... :l

Re: Xbox 360 ring of death
hell yeah they do.
i would be weary of ---- en putting a heat gun and blasting temperature sensitive components. or, you could do this. submerge the whole ---- en thing in a tank of mineral oil. without the drives and whatnot touching. it will work i swear. no really. everything but anything that moves. so basically extent the dvd rom outside and with an external sata cable, dunk that ---- in a tank to about where the hd goes. |
Re: Xbox 360 ring of death
ya don't do that. first find out the hardware failure.
when the 3 red lights come on, hold sync and hit the eject button to show the 4 digit fault code. http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair...rror-codes.htm And the towel trick is ------- stupid. Take a heatgun or atleast a hair dryer and heat it manually to keep the chips cooler. ONLY do that for poor solder joints (fault 0102) Keep the gun moving and pre-heat the entire board for a minute. Then slow down over wher-ever the fault area lays. (generally the GPU / GPU ram chips) When it turns pretty hot, stop, put it under a fan until it's cool to the touch (15min) or 30-45 min with no fan. |
Re: Xbox 360 ring of death
this is pretty lame.
i bet you the percentage of red rings grows to how they mount the damn thing. i need to look at my buddies. he has tw halo editions and well... ill see how much cooling this sob takes. |
