Xbox 360 ring of death
My friend's 360 got the ring of death yesterday and he can't send it into microsoft because it's been "tampered with". Does anyone know what causes this or any solutions?

Re: Xbox 360 ring of death
from what im understanding is that the 360 is a computer...and like computers...they crash. and im told thats what it is. he should have realized that just like anything. tampering with a product will void warrenty....congrats. he has a big plastic paper weight

take it outside . plug in a socket. drop in bucket full of water. should make it reset.

Re: Xbox 360 ring of death
this is just what i was told in training for a job last year...never really got to play with one other than one night. but the temporary part of it basically means you can send it off and they can fix it. ive seen pics of shelves where they plug them up to servers or some ---- and basically whip the harddrive clean and start over.

Re: Xbox 360 ring of death
It's due to the X-clamps that hold the cooling fins on the main processor and graphics chip bending the board and cracking solder joints over time. This has been fixed with recent units that use screws instead of the shitty X-clamps. They have also added an additional heat pipe and cooling fins for better cooling capacity.

Re: Xbox 360 ring of death
buy a new xbox 360, swap out the innerds, and return the newshell/broken innerds one.
