You never have to buy a new system. I'm on my 3rd one now and if it ever breaks I'll just get another.

do they check it, if you send it in for a Ring o' death? or just take your word for it and replace the ---- anyway? i got mine last x-mas, and no problems so far, but i would like to get the new ---- before my warrenty runs out.

Yes, of course they check it. Your warranty is 3 years so I think you'll be fine.

Yep that's what I did. I got a good deal on a few and sold one to my brothers friend. For some reason the disc drive just took a ---- after a few days. Gave him mine and took his back to wally world and all they had was the Halo 3 ones. So I just switched the insides and was ready to go. It was funny as hell though. Mine was the one without the HDMI and the Halo 3 has it. So when I put the case around my insides you couldn't see the a/v port and there was a gigantic trapezoid slot for a tiny HDMI port.

Same thing happened to me, I just had to cut some plastic off the back of my case. I had no idea that the cheapest 360's (Arcade) now come with HDMI, neat. I don't use it but it's nice to know it's there I guess ???

I'm sure plenty of people use HDMI on the 360, but I already have it connected through component video/optical audio and don't have any free HDMI ports on my tv. It would look/sound exactly the same anyways.
