Maybe as fast as a modern 2005 american sportscar stock. When they came out they beat everything (fox-body mustang of which i have owned 2, 88gt,93lx 5.0's, mustangs had 225 hp stock. Camaro had the TPI system, then lt1, which had 275 hp i believe (ls1 in 97 had 350!!), corvette had 300 stock. Most vr4/tt's are modded and with only bpu (boost controller, intake, exhaust, downpipe, at 15psi makes for 400 hp ) which is where I am at with my car. Upgraded turbo's, anywhere from 450-800 hp. It s not 4,000lbs, but 3,7xxlbs.

Hmm it seems you can talk the talk but not walk the walk rawr. A Honda was intended for econobox usage. Only thru the ingenuity of the tuner movement has made Honda into a sport compact car.

Honestly, it takes a lot more to make a Honda fast than a vr4, bud. I mean, ---- what 150 to 170 hp stock on 90's series cars, which comprises most of this board, correct?

Get realistic about this issue. For the record I own 3 cars, an 02 Accord Ex 4cyl-150hp vtec, an 02 Mustang Gt, and a 92 VR4. Cars came with 150hp,265hp, and 300hp, in that order.

Alright, let's start the first post off with a bang.

Please explain how a 3000GT VR-4 or Stealth RT/TT is not that impressive? An average quarter mile time of 13.7 @ 101 MPH, top speed of 160 MPH, excellent handling, and high speed stability? Nah, not impressive for a car that was mechanically unchanged since 1994, and even those changes were fairly minor.

It has performance numbers that are in line with all the other "Japanese Super Cars", and excellent potential when modded. Look for the April 06 issue if Sport Compact Car, you'll see what I mean.

Once again, look for the April 06 issue of Sport Compact Car.

So if you can talk so much crap about a 3000GT, you must be driving something nice... what would that be?

So once again, you want to talk crap about a car that runs an average of 13.7 seconds in the quarter mile bone stock crap? God help you if you ever run into a real VR-4 that has a competent driver behind the wheel.

Who compares stock for stock cars? Once you deal with major modifications I think we all know anything is possible. How many people on here leave their cars stock anyways?

Every car has pros and cons, and every car can be made fast. So why bash on certain manufacturers? One con the 3000GT/Stealth is known for is weight. The 3000GT is the heaviest of those cars mentioned above at almost 3700lbs, and that is a FACT. So when someone driving a sub 2400lb car calls it a sled/pig why freak out at them if its true? Wake the ---- up. A better answer would be something like "It is heavy, but it is easy to get more power out of these cars because the motors can handle it in stock form" or something like "The heavier weight does make it more stable on the highway"

If someone were to tell me my girlfriend was fat, and she really was, I wouldnt say "No shes not" I'd say "Eh, just more cushion for the pushin"

I guess what I am trying to say is there are pros and cons to everything in life, and until you bone a fat chick, you wont understand.

The pig of a Vr4 is ---- compare to a skyline. 1/4 times skyline would rape that tank.

Stop trying to justify spending 7 grand on a 13.7 second car from 1992 to me with your ****** insults. I wouldent have been talking ----, but you queers had to go off like you're some kind of car god, talking about our homemade setups and prefab parts. Theres people here who run 12's on 400 dollar d16z6'es a 1.6 liter single over head cam engine. While your dohc twin turbo polished shitbox complete with all of its retarded 4wd steering gadgets (wich came on the prelude 4ws so your're not as cool as you think) bust out with a 13.7.

Newsflash- Muscle cars were made in the 60's and 70's and were basic cars with large displacement V8's intended for straightline performance. No Japanese cars are muscle cars and no American car past the early 70's is either.RX7 is a sports car,3000GT is a touring/GT car and the rest well that is up to personal interpretation.Mustangs and Camaros are pony cars which is a combination of a sports type car and muscle.Calm down too as he said it is a heavy pig so what my Honda's are econo boxes and i dont get bent out of shape about it.I actually like the fact that people tell me my Honda is a pos econo box as it makes them look like even more of a fool when they lose to me in autocross or at the strip.

Really? I have a video of a drag race in Japan between a Skyline and a VR-4, guess which car won? The VR-4 won in a close finish.

Now let's look at the whole Skyline is underated part: Guess how much HP a 3000GT VR-4 is supposed to put out stock in Japan? 276 HP, now why is that? Because there was an agreement between the auto makers to not produce cars above that power level.

Now, what are the differences that make the JDM VR-4 put out 276 HP as compared to the 300 HP (91-93) or 320 HP (94+) in the USDM VR-4s? Absolutely nothing, that's right kids, Mitsubishi underated the VR-4 just like Nissan underated the Skyline.

So in closing, stop and think before you shoot off your mouth on a subject that you obviously know nothing about. Thanks.

To keep things simple I'd just call them all "Japanese Sports Cars"

And again, why are you comparing stock for stock cars? For one there arent skylines available state side so who gives a ---- if someone says its better? Jesus christ. I need a bullet to the face
