3sgte/b18b + rabbit would be fun just to do it to ---- with the local VW chapter of homos. I wanted to do that to the exgirlfriends 81 cabriolet, she said no and wanted to throw a shitty 16v in it. So now it sits rotting behind her house.

brakes arent too bad, but the 2.0 driveline is a nightmare, IMO, mostly referring to the intake manifold which blankets the motor, making a simple tune up an all day project.

8v's = easier to work on than hondas. Especially 2.0's. It's a solid dd motor too with a good feel on the highway and around town.
the mk4 2.0 you're refering to has that weird *** crooked style manifold on it, it's alittle harder, but still do able.
