around 100psi is way more pressure than needed. doesn't really give you any benifit...

high pressure over stock is stupid... you're sacrificing flow for pressure. subaru amongst many others is all about the volume, many many older subarus went 'tick tick tick' at idle.. it wasn't a bad engine for the most part, it was the low pressure.

Higher pressure over stock is needed for some applications. When dealling with incompressible fluids higher pressure is higher volume - observe the caveat that a hydraulic system is only as good as it's smallest aperture.
Older subarus went tick tick tick because, just like the early EJs in the Legacy, the oil galleys were junk and the engines prone to deposits forming in them. Since a hydraulic system is only as good as the smallest orifice - clogged with debris - they went tick tick tick due to lack of either pressure or volume.

10lbs/per 1000rpm's is a good guide to go off if your road racing. And i've applied that to high hp setups too.
When we used to race in USTCC if our EK went much under 7.5lbs/per 1000rpm's it would eventually spin a bearing. every time. reving and hanging out around 9300-9500.. It just depends, I'd be super happy with 100-110 psi..
