Re: is it possible to loose a pound a day?
Sounds a bit excessive maybe if you starved your self or dehydrated I think 60% of body weight is water. If you want to loose fat that requires not eating much and excercising to speed up the process, fat is the last thing your body burns, it actually begins breaking down muscle tissue to an extent before it begins using fat. Also I remember reading there is a hormone released by adipose cells that signals hunger to your brain, kinda ironic the larger a person is the more their body signals them to eat. Thoes cells don't go away once the weight is gone they are just emptied of the lipids they hold, maybe a reason why so many relapse?

Re: is it possible to loose a pound a day?
Im loosing about 3 lbs a week, sometimes more, sometimes less.....
I work out 4-5 times a week an hour at a time, 20-25 minutes to weights, 15 reps 2 sets with 15 seconds rest between sets (building fast twitch muscles) for wieghts alternating between upper and lower body by day...
Then 25-28 minutes high intensity cardio....I would say on a scale of 1-10 effort I put in a 7 on the cardio
Ive cut back big time on my eats....I dont eat out at all now....portions are way too big, and I will eat whatever is in front of me. I wake up, eat a bannana/ multi-vitamin then eat a small sandwhich with a vege-paty, then have a typical dinner. I eat fish for dinner at least 2-3 nights a week. I've noticed a big change in my energy level, and I'm not mentally tired when I get home from work anymore. At first it was hell, but now Im seriously addicted to working out, I really feel physically ill if I dont work out now.
Bottom line though is motivation. I got so sick and tired of denying that I was fat, I didnt used to be, but college got to me, and I wasnt nearly as active as I used to be. I also have cancer/heart disease in my family, and my dad just got out of the hospital for colin cancer, that was a wake up call as well. The worst was looking at my wedding photos and not recognizing myself anymore, that is what pissed me off the most. Its hard *** work, and you have to get really pissed to do this

The other funny thing about the book [Atkins] is after a while you go back to just eating a regular low fat low calorie diet
