Now if you made all of them legal, you'd have welfare that could be drawn through the children (still) and now also the parents. Just one example, but there are many social services that the loopholes aren't big enough for them to get their hands on them. If they were all legal, they would.

Making them legal so that they had to be at a minimum wage wouldn't work either. You still have 100 guys for every 1 job, and it would go to the lowest bidder. The lowest bidder doesn't care if you have him being payed $5 an hour under the table either. If he did, the next guy would be in his spot. When there is that many workers that will do 1 job, minimum wage doesn't mean anything.

And then, general contractors still get exactly what they are gettting now, cheap labor. Being proficient in English doesn't mean anything in California. You can go to any store and order in spanish. Hell, even most of the white guys know Spanish. So why would it matter if the person spoke english when his co-workers all know spanish, and the society he works/lives/plays in excepts spanish as a spoken language?

Well what pisses me off is that my wife has trouble finding work because she isn't fluent in spanish. She's a legal secretary(or was anyway) and the City of Phoenix and most law firms in Phoenix require bilingual secretaries. Thats why when she finishes her degree we're not staying Arizona. I'm moving her back to Alabama where being bilingual is not a job requirment. BTW her favorite radio show is some preacher that sounds like Cheech Marin. It totally freaks me out listening to him.

What about all the millionars in California that get a shitload of tax breaks while the middle men give almost 20 percent of their income in taxes.
